Communication

We’ve identified nine different channels we can use to accomplish our communication goals:

  1. This PTA website is updated regularly.
  2. We encourage every family to sign-up for the SVUSD Family Portal. Your child’s teacher will provide you with information to register/login your family. This system allows Principal Canzone to send the occasional grade-specific and even class-specific e-mail to your family through the school district system.
  3. A double-sided Monthly Highlights newsletter goes home with your child/children at the beginning of each month. It is also posted here on the website.
  4. Banners are posted outside the school to notify you of current school events upon pick-up and drop-off.
  5. Flyers are sent home with the students. Many teachers send home PTA flyers on Fridays. If you think you are missing a flyer, check this website.
  6. PTA Display Case is in front of the school. It’s painted blue with a yellow paper background. You’ll find very important info posted there.
  7. The  Lomarena Lions marquee is the big sign with 5 lines of slide-in lettering seen upon entering the school driveway. It is updated with the 5 most current events.
  8. The Monday Morning Wake-Up Call is an announcement made to the students every Monday morning over the intercom at the school.
  9. PTA meetings are an excellent forum for sharing information and gaining input from parents and teachers.
